Coral Review

Coral’s roots go right back to 1928 when Joe Coral founded the company but they are now owned by the Gala Coral Group. They have around 1700 betting shops in the UK and the online operation is licensed by Gibraltar.

They are one of the biggest bookies about and offer an excellent all-round package including casino, live casino, games, poker, bingo and lotto. In terms of sports their major focus is on UK and European football and, of course, horse racing.

Bonuses and Promotions

Coral offer a great value £20 free bet which you'll receive as soon as you've placed your first real money bet of just £5. The five pound bet must be placed within 14 days of signing up and have odds of 1/2 or more. You can bet on any sport (ie: it doesn't have to be racing) and the wager can be a single, double, treble, four (or more) fold accumulator, forecast or combination bet. However, combination bets (such as a lucky 15) are not permitted in conjunction with this promotion.

In addition Coral also offer Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Irish races, meaning if you take the early price and the odds drift you’ll still get the bigger payout. Over the course of the season this can make a huge difference to your profits and is a massive bonus for racing fans.

With a whole host of bingo, poker and casino promotions, as well as regular offers for enhanced multiples in football, frequent free bets offered to inactive accounts and various ongoing free bet offers (such as their recent Premier League darts promotion), Coral have plenty to offer.

Usability and Design

Coral’s interface is slicker than Lewis Hamilton’s tyres on a sunny day. The stylish blue site allows quick and easy access to the various sports in the left menu bar with major events and in-play options highlighted in the main column. Some may consider the homepage a little banner-heavy but they are mainly concentrated in the right hand column and allow instant access to the various promotions that may be running at any given time.

The option to filter events by sport, country, league and so on, or alternatively by what’s happening today, tomorrow, or in the future is a nice feature and the overall speed and feel of the site are excellent.

The Verdict

As one would expect of one of Britain’s biggest and longest established betting companies, Coral score highly in most departments. Their odds are above average with enhanced each-way terms for certain big races being a real plus for fans of the horses. Another bonus for racing punters is Coral’s live streaming facility that allows you to watch races provided you have bet on the race in question.

Their customer service is very strong and they offer live chat, although the fact that their team can only be contacted between 7am and 11pm is a minor mark against them in a 24/7 age.

They are always improving though, and with a slick website, solid in-play console and an excellent range of markets they are an exceptional operator. The £50 free bet is better than the market average, especially as it’s a simple offer with no minimum odds and so all in all Coral are a valuable addition to your bookmaker portfolio.
